Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) square off in match 43 of the IPL 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, April 27.
Delhi Capitals started with four losses out of their first five games and were staring down the barrel. However, they have managed to turn things around commendably, winning three out of their last four games. With four wins in nine games, the Capitals are placed at No. 6 on the points table. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians find themselves at No. 8, with three wins and five losses to show for their efforts. The former five-time champions got off to a horrendous start in IPL 2024 as they lost their first three matches. However, they have mustered a resurgence of sorts, having won three out of their last five games.
Delhi's leading run-getter has been their captain Rishabh Pant. The southpaw returned to competitive cricket after 14 months during IPL 2024 and has decimated opposition bowlers like only he can. In nine matches, he has amassed 342 runs at an average of 48.86 and a strike rate of 161.32. He is currently third on the list of leading run-getters in IPL 2024. Meanwhile, young Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk has infused a lot of energy into the DC camp, scoring 163 runs in four games at a remarkable strike rate of 211.69. Tristan Stubbs has also played some explosive knocks, showing cricket enthusiasts why he is rated so highly in the cricket community.

On the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav has picked up 12 wickets at an average of 15.08 from six matches. He is the top wicket-taker for the Capitals. Khaleel Ahmed had a bright start to the season but has conceded 77 runs in the last two matches in just five overs and failed to take a wicket. Delhi would want the left-arm seamer to bounce back strongly as he plays a vital role for the team, with the new ball.

The Capitals are coming off a four-run win against Gujarat Titans after successfully defending a target of 225 at home. Meanwhile, Mumbai suffered a nine-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals in their last game against Rajasthan Royals, who chased down a 180-run target with eight balls and nine wickets to spare in Jaipur.
Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been the leading run-getter for the Hardik Pandya-led franchise. The 36-year-old has scored 303 runs from eight games at an average of 43.29 and has a strike rate of 162.90. He has given some scintillating starts to his team at the top of the order. Tilak Varma has also played well, having aggregated 273 runs from eight matches at an average of 45.50 and has a strike rate of 151.67. Suryakumar Yadav has also played a couple of good knocks after missing the first few matches. Meanwhile, Tim David has played some crucial cameos in the death overs.
Jasprit Bumrah has been the mainstay of Mumbai's bowling department. The ace speedster has bagged 13 wickets from eight matches at an average of 15.69. He has a commendable economy rate of 6.38 this season. Fellow right-arm pacer Gerald Coetzee has produced sensational performance in just his first season in the cash-rich league. The South African cricketer has bagged 12 wickets from eight matches at an average of 24.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions
The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi has hosted only a couple of games so far in IPL 2024. The pitches have been like a paradise for the batters and a dreadful nightmare for the bowlers as 465 runs were aggregated in the first match between Delhi and Sunrisers Hyderabad, while 444 were scored in the Delhi versus Gujarat Titans clash. Both games were won by teams batting first. The average first innings total is a whopping 225. This is going to be an afternoon fixture and therefore dew isn't going to play a role. The captain who wins the toss could opt to bat first.

Probable Playing XI
Delhi Capitals (DC)
The Capitals made a bold move in the last game as they dropped the out-of-form David Warner and brought back Shai Hope. The West Indies batter got out cheaply but should get another go. Promoting Axar to No. 3 paid dividends as the all-rounder scored a 43-ball 66 against the Titans in the last game. He should continue in that position. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of Ishant Sharma replacing Anrich Nortje, who has looked woefully out of form in IPL 2024.
Predicted XI: Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser McGurk, Shai Hope, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar
Impact Player: Rasikh Salam

Piyush Chawla was recalled and he finished with decent figures of 1/33 in his four overs. He should also retain his spot in the side. Nuwan Thushara could come in as the Impact Player like the last game.
Predicted XI: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera, Hardik Pandya (c), Tim David, Mohammad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Jasprit Bumrah
