After the conclusion of the Test series, where South Africa defeated West Indies 2-0, the hosts looked to grab their first win in the ODI series as well, but the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. After the first game was abandoned, South Africa will take on the West Indies in the second ODI at Buffalo Park on Saturday, March 18.

Despite the ODI series not being part of the ODI World Cup Super League, the Proteas will be keen on clinching the series as well and continuing their home dominance. The Men in Maroon would be low on confidence after losing the red-ball series, it could be interesting to see how they bounce back.

South Africa, however, will be without the services of several star players like Aiden Markram, David Miller, and many more. They will be joining the side for the final ODI of the series. Temba Bavuma will be leading the side as the Proteas look to win yet another game against the West Indies.

The Windies, however, will be led by Shai Hope. Rovman Powell has been in terrific form recently and will look to do his best as vice captain of the side. The visitors will be keen to bounce back after their loss in the Test series.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Buffalo Park has been bowler-friendly and could prove challenging for the batters. The side bowling first would look to restrict the batters at the lowest score possible as the run chase won’t be easy either, and it would be favorable if the target is reasonable.
