Jaiswal got to his first Test half-century in his first game in England. A few overs later, Shubman Gill brought up his maiden half-century as Test skipper. Jaiswal brought up his hundred on the final ball of a 13-run over by Brydon Carse.

There was no boundary scored after that over from Stokes till the next eight overs. The team 300 was brought up with a maximum by Rishabh Pant, who had already entered the 40s by then.
