Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals India 2023: Mumbai reign superior in ultimate clash of women's edition

The ultimate clash of the Red Bull Campus Cricket National Final 2023 for the women’s edition took place on 2^nd June at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun. RTC College Ranchi and Rizvi College Mumbai locked horns in the afternoon clash where Mumbai clinched the match by 10 runs to bag the big honour. The final Trophy and other prizes were presented by star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Rajasthan Royal’s emerging talent Dhruv Jurel. The cricketers also took out time to talk to budding talents and motivated them for their future endeavours.

Talking of the match, Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first as they posted a decent total of 104 runs in 20 overs after losing 9 wickets. Mansi Patil top scored for Mumbai by adding 22 runs at the top whereas Tushi Shah and Aachal chipped in with 16 runs each. Jagravi Pawar picked three wickets while conceding 15 runs in four overs to bag the Player of the Match award. Apart from Jagravi, semi-finals' star Jhanvi Kate also got successful twice.

Talking of chase, Ranchi kicked off their innings pretty well as Kumari Savita’s 45 at the top set them up for a sturdy start. However, she failed to receive the required support from the other end which eventually led to the team’s collapse. Anamika Kumari contributed 15 runs from her end while the rest of the batters failed to touch the double digits. 

As Ranchi lacked the required efforts and intent in their batting approach, they fell 10 runs short of the target to end as runner-up in the third edition of the mega tournament. Shampy Kumari bagged three wickets for Mumbai while conceding 20 runs in four overs. Priti Kumari also registered three scalps to her name while conceding 22 runs and Pragati Kumari got successful twice for Mumbai.
