Cricket South Africa is on the verge of announcing a new and revolutionary T20 league, something that will match up to the Big Bash League. While this is being done in a bid to stop the South African players from signing Kolpak deals and banning themselves from international cricket, the fact is that the likes of the Indian Premier League as well as the Big Bash League will be one of the flagship activities in the grand scheme of things.

However, an interesting update came in from the spokesperson of the CSA who went on to add that the most number of investors were indeed coming from India. He also went on to add that the the details cannot be disclosed at this stage, but the response from India was certainly something that has encouraged the Board to go ahead and have the T20 tournament they have all been wanting to have for a long time.

“The response from India has been very encouraging,” said a CSA spokesman refusing to go into the details. “The details and specifics cannot be disclosed at this stage because we don’t have all of them.”

The spokesperson also went on to add that the CSA would like their players to stay at home and earn and not resort to other means of income. The latest has seen the likes of Kyle Abbott and David Wiese, two important players in the T20I side sign Kolpak deals.

“The CSA wants its player stay at home and earn. Obviously the players are leaving the country because they are unable to earn enough there. The new Twenty20 tournament is a fix for that,” said a source involved in the project in India.
