Asian Giants India and Sri Lanka are all set to kick start their New Year by locking horns in the first of the three-match T20I series starting Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The second and the third match will take place on January 5 and 7 in Pune and Rajkot respectively. The Lankan Lions will also contest in a three-match ODI series followed by the T20Is.
Notably, India failed to lift silverware in any of the two major tournaments (Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup) in 2022 as they failed to reach the finals of both events. On the other hand, Dasun Shanaka and his side claimed the Asia Cup (T20) title by defeating Pakistan in the summit clash.
