The in-form team India (IND) lock horns with the already-eliminated Bangladesh (BAN) side in Match 6 of the Super Fours round of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The encounter is scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2023, at the R. Premadasa Stadium, in Colombo. With two wins in as many games, the Men in Blue have already qualified for the mega final, while the Bangla Tigers lost their two fixtures to bow out of the tournament.

Speaking about India’s victory against Sri Lanka in the last encounter, the young all-rounder Dunith Wellalage had a game to remember as the Indian side avoided his heroics to claim a crucial win. Batting first, Rohit Sharma and his men got bundled out for just 213 runs, courtesy of a five-wicket haul from the 20-year-old youngster.

He picked up figures of 5/40 in his 10 overs which included a maiden, while part-timer Charith Asalanka also managed to snare four scalps as India lost all their ten wickets to the spinners for the very first time in their ODI history. Wellalage then played a fighting knock of an unbeaten 42 off 46 with the rest of the batting line-up failing to give him support. India will look to give a chance to some of their bench players in this dead rubber, while Bangladesh will hope to claim a consolation victory to end the campaign on a high.
