Two in-form sides Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), go toe-to-toe with each other in Match No. 17 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both teams will clash again in the reverse fixture in Match No. 37 on Thursday, April 27, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Four-time winners CSK and the champions of the inaugural edition RR have made identical starts to their current campaign. After losing the opening encounter against Gujarat Titans (GT), the Yellow Army has now won two matches on the bounce against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad is in excellent form, while the spinners are also getting the job done for MS Dhoni’s side. On the other hand, runners-up of the last edition RR began their season with a victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before losing out to Punjab Kings (PBKS). In their last game, Sanju Samson’s team returned to winning ways against Delhi Capitals (DC). Openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been amongst the runs, with Shimron Hetmyer and Trent Boult also contributing for RR.
