Runners-up from the last edition Rajasthan Royals (RR) rub shoulders with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match No. 26 of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The venue is set to host its first game this season after the Royals played their first two home encounters in Guwahati. Both sides will meet only once in the league phase of this edition.
Regarding the team form, Sanju Samson’s RR have been the most consistent side so far as they have played five matches with four victories and just one loss. The winners of the inaugural 2008 season began their current campaign with a victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before losing out to Punjab Kings (PBKS). Since then, they have registered three back-to-back wins against Delhi Capitals (DC), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT). They are at the top of the table with eight points and a net run rate (NRR) of +1.354.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul-led LSG have played five games so far with three wins and two losses. They started off their tournament with a victory against DC before facing defeat at the hands of CSK. The Super Giants then won two on the trot against SRH and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), respectively. They lost their last clash against PBKS by a two-wicket margin in Lucknow. With six points and a net run rate (NRR) of +0.761, they are below RR in the second spot in the table. (All scenarios till Match No. 24)
