Half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell and skipper Faf du Plessis went in vain as Suryakumar Yadav hammered 83 off just 35 balls with seven fours and six maximums to help Mumbai Indians (MI) in defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets in Match 54 of IPL 2023 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Youngster Nehal Wadhera also struck an unbeaten 52 off 34 as MI reached their target of 200 with 21 balls to spare.
Speaking about how the game panned out, captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. Virat Kohli got out cheaply for just one run while Anuj Rawat’s struggle continue as he managed only six runs. Faf stretched his red-hot form as he and Maxwell added 120 runs for the third wicket.
