They batted first and posted a mammoth total of 364, thanks to a century from Dawid Malan and half-centuries from Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root. Reece Topley and Chris Woakes were the pick of the English bowlers, picking up four and two wickets, respectively. Bangladesh were bowled out for 227 in 48.2 overs.
