South Africa, after engaging in a no-result affair with Zimbabwe in their Super 12 opener now faces Bangladesh in Match 22 of the T20 World Cup 2022 on October 27 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh side started off their tournament with a nine-run victory against the Netherlands courtesy of a match-winning spell from pacer Taskin Ahmed who took 4/25.

Talking about the South Africa-Zimbabwe clash, it got reduced to nine overs per side contest due to rain in Hobart. Lungi Ngidi took 2/20 including the prized scalp of Sikandar Raza as the Proteas restricted the Zimbabweans to 79/5. In reply, Quinton de Kock gave his side a blistering start with his innings of 47* off just 18. With South Africa 51/3 after three overs, it started pouring to end the match with no result as both sides shared a point each.

After an unfortunate outing against Zimbabwe, Temba Bavuma and his Protea team will look to register their first win of the campaign against the Bangla Tigers before they face an in-form Indian side on October 30. On the other hand, Bangladesh, who recorded their first-ever win in Round two in the history of the competition would like to make it two in two under the leadership of veteran Shakib.
