The T20 World Cup 2022 is just left with the summit clash between Pakistan and England as the semi-finals concluded on November 10. The event has been one of the most entertaining editions despite the weather playing a major impact in many fixtures. Fans across the world have got to witness many exciting clashes since the First Round filled with drama, high-octane bowling performances, sensational batting displays, and some major upsets.
More often than not, the batters have dominated the competition and scored big runs to help their side have an edge over the rival team. At the top of the list is India batter and former skipper Virat Kohli standing tall with 296 runs in mere six games at a batting average of 98.66.
The right-hander endured poor outings prior to the Asia Cup 2022 held earlier this year and decided to take a short sabbatical. Upon his return marked the return of ‘vintage Kohli’ as fans know. The batter smashed a historic match-winning knock against Pakistan (82* off 53 balls), since then, he has never looked back and will end the tournament having scored four half-centuries off his six outings.
Max O'Dowd stands second on the table with 242 runs in his eight outings for the national side. The Netherlands were lucky to have his services throughout the event considering how impactful he was with the bat and that resonated well as he is among the list of top run-getters.
Suryakumar Yadav has been in sensational form since the beginning of the year. Match after match, the batter has proven his worth in the side and been the most lethal batter coming in the middle order. With 239 runs in six innings, he takes the third place in the list of highest run-getters.
Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis has been another massive player for the national side. At an average of 31.85 in eight games, the batter scored 223 runs for the side, standing fourth in the table below the Indian batter. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has been a standout performer for the side and many would suggest that he has been one of the best among the list of experienced players. Raza scored 219 runs in his eight outings for the African side at an average of 27.37, standing fifth on the list of the highest run-getters thus far.
