The stage is set for an enthralling contest in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup as we reach the business end of the tournament. After England came out victorious in the first semi finals by defeating South Africa by a narrow margin, it is now the turn to see the semi final clash between India and Australia to decide the second finalists of the tournament.

England and the Southern Stars have been the two most dominant sides in the competition. During a major part of the tournament, Indians were also amongst the top contenders for the coveted title but lost their way in the middle after their defeats against Australia and South Africa. The Southern Stars have defeated all the other teams except England, while England has defeated all the other teams except India.

After the conclusion of the round robin stage of the tournament, England topped the group with 12 points due to superior net run-rate even though Australia bagged the same number of points. Indian Women’s team were placed at the third position with 10 points (five wins and two defeats). South Africa entered into the knock out stages after they captured the fourth spot in the table.

Only the three best teams in the competition remain alive in the tournament and by the end of the day and even the men folk from India and Australia were right behind their respective teams ahead of the high-voltage clash in the second semi-finals of the tournament.

Top notch cricketers such as Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Michael Clarke, Steve Smith and David Warner were right behind their respective teams, wishing them all the luck ahead of the high octane clash between the two giants of Women’s cricket. Former cricketers Darren Lehmann, Isa Guha and Jason Gillespie also joined in to wish their luck to the Women’s team ahead of the all important clash.
