Narendra Modi is among the most eminent personalities in the history of Indian politics. Back on May 26, 2014, he took oath as the 15th Prime Minister of the nation. Modi replaced Manmohan Singh for the prestigious position. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 years from 2001 to 2014. The veteran is also the Member of Parliament for Varanasi.

He became Gujarat’s Chief Minister after Keshubhai Patel’s deteriorating health and poor public image following the earthquake in Bhuj. In the 2014 General Elections, he led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the party ended with a majority in the Lok Sabha. After being appointed as the Prime Minister, Modi’s government has been trying to raise Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
