The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around various events today, one of them was the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. In today’s first match, the Delhi Capitals (DC) locked horns with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. The hosts, captained by Shreyas Iyer, won the game by five wickets and finished the round-robin stage on a comprehensive note.
Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra picked up three wickets each and restricted the Royals to 115 in 20 overs. Mohammad Kaif was happy after the decent bowling performances. Rishabh Pant scored 53 from 38 balls and Hemang Badani was satisfied to see the patience with which the 21-year-old batted. Aakash Chopra couldn’t stop heaping praises on the 17-year-old Riyan Parag.
The Assam cricketer became the youngest batsman to notch a half-century in the IPL and the Young Turk achieved the milestone in 47 balls. Yusuf Pathan seemed charged up prior to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) contest against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Former Australian bowler Brett Lee made a prediction about Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) chances of making it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Gambhir Gambhir suggested Shahid Afridi to consult a psychiatrist after the former Pakistan cricketer called the 37-year-old Gambhir a ‘negative individual’.
1. Aakash Chopra questions RCB’s previous three overseas players policy
What explains #RCB playing with three overseas players when Hetmeyer was sitting on the bench?? Understandable when four overseas were available and he wasn’t one of them after the first few games… #RCBvSRH #IPL

2. Gambhir has a message for Afridi
@SAfridiOfficial you are a hilarious man!!! Anyway, we are still granting visas to Pakistanis for medical tourism. I will personally take you to a psychiatrist.

3. A delighted Mohammad Kaif
Great win by the boys. Wonderful spells from @ImIshant and @MishiAmit and Rishabh Pant showing his class. Many thanks to the fantastic crowd at Kotla for their support throughout the season. #DCvRR pic.twitter.com/dEbtUmg3Ks

4. Lee makes an analysis on KKR
Read my thoughts on last night's encounter between my previous two teams in #IPL2019
Look out for my prediction of @KKRiders making it to the playoffs 😉https://t.co/arGAalFOmh@100MasterBlastr pic.twitter.com/T0PM1h61WB— Brett Lee (@BrettLee_58) May 4, 2019
5. Badani impressed by Pant
First 50 for Pant at Kotla. Good to see that he batted with a lot of patience and as a result got some runs to win the game for his side at home . Important to note that he had scored just 67 runs all together at Kotla this year prior to this game. Good for @DelhiCapitals #DCvRR

6. Manjrekar lauds Pant as well
Unique technique of Rishabh Pant – Foundation with his feet all wobbly, hence the ungainly look. But keeps the torso strong and sturdy to get the power. #Pant

7. Akhtar gives an information

8. Aakash Chopra in awe of Riyan Parag
Riyan Parag has been super impressive. Maturity belies his age. And it’s baffling how #RR struggled to find a higher batting slot for him….even in the absence of Buttler and Smith. #DCvRR #IPL

9. A determined Yusuf Pathan
Stretch, Train, Cool down
That's the game countdown.
