The cricketing trends on the social media mostly revolved around the opening T20 International match between India and Windies at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Tamil Nadu-born Dinesh Karthik donned the keeping gloves in the match in place of Rishabh Pant and former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra reckons Karthik is a better fielder than the Uttarakhand-born wicketkeeper-batsman.

Cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar was impressed by Khaleel Ahmed, who did well with the new ball. Hardik Pandya shared a message for his brother Krunal after the latter made his international debut. Deep Dasgupta is happy to be back to Kolkata, his hometown as a presenter for the T20I series. Former Indian cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath was excited to be on Star Sports.

Umar Gul congratulated Habib Bank Limited team for winning the Quaid-e-Azam trophy. Ramiz Raja is hopeful Pakistan will beat New Zealand in the final T20I and complete another clean sweep. South Africa won the first ODI against Australia by six wickets in a rather one-sided encounter.

The Proteas captain Faf du Plessis and former batsman Graeme Smith was happy with how their team played. Iqbal Abdullah believes one shouldn’t stop learning at any point of his/her career. English batsman Ian Bell spent some quality time with his family in Dubai.
