The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The Indian Women’s team is all set to play the final of the 2020 T20 World Cup against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The side, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, won all their four matches in Group A, beating the Aussies, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Subsequently, they topped the group and set up a semi-final clash along with England at the Sydney Cricket Ground. However, the match got abandoned due to rain and India made the final on account of finishing higher in the points table than their opponent in Group B.
Before the crunch game, the cricketing fraternity sent their best wishes for Kaur and Co. This is India’s first ever final of the tournament with Australia being the four-time champions. Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lavished praises on India and sent his words of motivation. Hemang Badani was happy after the Chennai Super Kings made their return to the field. He was also over the moon on seeing MS Dhoni.
Wasim Jaffer, the leading run-scorer in India’s domestic cricket, hung his boots from all forms of cricket and he got wishes from most of his Indian teammates. Mitchell McClenaghan posted a picture with wife Georgia England. The duo entered the wedlock a few days after their engagement. Daren Sammy was happy to meet a Peshawar Zalmi fan-kid in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
