The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian leg-spin bowler, got engaged to YouTuber and choreographer Dhanashree Verma. Thereafter, the 30-year-old uploaded a couple of their adorable pictures from the ceremony. Chahal hasn’t played any cricket since India’s T20I and ODI series against New Zealand back in February. However, he is set to make a comeback in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL), representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chahal has been a stalwart of the team, led by Virat Kohli, who’s also the national skipper.
The opening Test between Pakistan and England is currently underway at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan all-rounder, was busy following the match on his phone in beautiful weather in Karachi. Former Indian cricketer and ace commentator Sanjay Manjrekar had some words of advice for Mohammad Abbas, who castled Ben Stokes with an absolute ripper in the first innings. Abbas doesn’t have pace, but can generate prodigious swing.
Kane Williamson, the New Zealand captain, turned 30 years old and on the auspicious occasion, the cricketing fraternity wished him. Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian all-rounder, and many others lauded Kane on the special day. Kohli shared a video where he can be seen, working hard to stay fit. Indian leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was happy after being able to return to the gym. Australian batsman David Warner was impressed with a kid’s passion and dedication.
