The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Bangladesh played their maiden U19 World Cup against India at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. The Junior Tigers and elected to field first and bowled the Boys in Blue for a paltry 177 in a mere 47.2 overs. For India, only Yashasvi Jaiswal shone with the bat, scoring 88 runs. Once Shoriful Islam nipped him out, the Indian innings fell apart as they lost seven wickets for 21 runs in a space of 45 balls. Bangladesh’s impressive performance impressed a number of cricket experts, one of whom was Tom Moody
The former Aussie cricketer heaped praises on them for their disciplined bowling and impressive display of fielding. Moody and Bishop were quite happy with how their openers- Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon started the run-chase. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old Naseem Shah lit up the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium with a Test hat-trick. The young turk accomplished the milestone against Bangladesh, dismissing Najmul Hossain Shanto, Taijul Islam and Mahmudullah Riyad.
Thereafter, the likes of Shoaib Malik, Sohail Tanvir and many others were over the moon and showered the youngster with appreciation. The Bushfire bash cricket appeal match took place at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. The game took place between Ricky Ponting XI and Adam Gilchrist XI, both teams featuring a number of legendary cricketers. During the innings break of the charity game, Sachin Tendulkar also faced the likes of Ellyse Perry and Anabelle Sutherland.
