The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Today, wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel celebrated his 35th birthday and wishes poured in for the Gujarat skipper. Many eminent players including Irfan Pathan, Yuvraj Singh and Wasim Jaffer extended wishes to the left-hander. In a First-class career spanning over almost two decades, Patel has amassed 11240 runs at an impressive average of 43.39 including 27 tons and 62 half-centuries.
Shubman Gill– who is touted to make it big while donning the Indian jersey in near future– shared a picture with his family on Twitter. Meanwhile, the threat of Coronavirus proliferating across the globe has baffled organizers of many sporting events including the much-awaited IPL 2020. Ahead of the 13th season of Indian Premier League, veteran Amit Mishra shared a picture while wearing a mask and urging everyone to take preventive measures while travelling.
The Road Safety World Series is garnering a lot of attention due to the sight of many cricketing legends stepping into the field once again. South African legend Jonty Rhodes— who is best known for his athletic fielding– was seen practising ahead of South Africa Legends’ game in the tournament.
Wishes also poured in for Wasim Jaffer, who bid adieu to the game after plying his trade for 25 years. Many cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Kaif congratulated Jaffer for an illustrious domestic career.
Meanwhile, one of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL– Chennai Super Kings– have initiated their preparations for the upcoming season. Suresh Raina, who has been an integral part of CSK and one of the most successful batsmen in the league, shared a video where he was seen sweating it out ahead of IPL 2020.
