The cricketing trends on the social media revolved mainly around the return of Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman from Pakistan. The Air Force Wing Commander was captured by Pakistan after his plane crashed on the other side of LoC while on a mission. But later Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that Abhinandan would be sent to India as a peace gesture as relations between the two countries continue to deteriorate in the wake of the Pulwama attack.
Sandeep Sharma, the Punjab fast-bowler, led the tributes for Abhinandan while Bishan Singh Bedi posted a picture to highlight the courage of Indian armed forces. Jasprit Bumrah, who recently impressed in the T20Is against Australia, has already started missing the cricket ground while Smriti Mandhana revealed what it takes to rise and shine.
Former South Africa skipper expressed his excitement over signing for Middlesex for the upcoming T20 Blast while Danny Morrison left a wide grin on his followers’ face by comparing Mark Waugh’s look with that of U2 singer Bono. The cricketing fraternity also celebrated a couple of birthdays as Ajinkya Rahane wished Mary Kom while Rashid Khan sent his best wishes to Shahid Afridi.
In other trends, David Warner seems to be making most of his time away from hustle and bustle of international cricket. Irfan Pathan, who recently became a father, is also seen spending time with his family.
