The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. At the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand beat India by five wickets. The Black Caps chased 297 with 17 balls to spare and also managed to win the three-match series 3-0. Henry Nicholls was adjudged the Player of the Match for scoring 80 runs off 103 balls with nine fours. Colin de Grandhomme’s 28-ball 58 took the Kiwis over the finishing line in the one-sided affair.
Ross Taylor, who scored a century at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, became the Player of the Series. Shreyas Iyer, who had decent outings in all three matches, was a satisfied lot. He expressed gratitude for being on the park. Mohammad Kaif was impressed by how Tom Latham and KL Rahul, who got a ton at the Bay Oval, batted in the middle order. He reckons that being good finishers from opening the batting earlier needs a lot of class and cailbre.
Mohammad Amir posted a picture along with his daughter Minsa. Samit Patel thanked the Melbourne Renegades for his participation in the 2019-20 edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). The Renegades, led by Aaron Finch, couldn’t qualify for the playoffs and finished at the bottom of the table. Gautam Gambhir congratulated Arvind Kejriwal after the latter became the Chief Minister of New Delhi. India Test vice captain Ajinkya Rahane asked for a playlist from his fans.
1. Mohammad Kaif lauds KL Rahul and Tom Latham for finishing games
We’ve seen the likes of Sachin, Sehwag & rohit transition from middle-order to openers. But in @klrahul11 & Tom Latham, we may be seeing the first ones to reverse this trend. For openers to become good finishers requires some class 👌🏼#INDvsNZ
