The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. India continued their dominance in the ICC World Test Championship with their fourth victory on the trot, thereby accumulating 200 points. After defeating the West Indies, Virat Kohli and Co punched above their weight to win the three-match Test series versus South Africa at home.

The hosts won the opening Test by 203 runs and then beat Faf du Plessis’ men by an innings and 137 runs at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The third Test is scheduled to get underway on October 19 in Ranchi. Following the 2-0 lead, the cricketing fraternity showered praises and appreciations on India for yet another resounding show.

The Indian players had more reasons to cheer as on Sunday, Hanuma Vihari celebrated his 26th birthday. Mohammed Shami, Cheteshwar Pujara and many others posted pictures with Vihari, whose face was seen, smeared with cake. Vihari didn’t get to play the second Test after a decent run in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, in the West Indies, the Barbados Tridents managed to win the seventh edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The team, led by Jason Holder, defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba by 27 runs.

The Warriors, captained by Shoaib Malik, came into this game on the backs of 11 consecutive victories, but couldn’t bring forth their A-game in the Final. Jonathan Carter was adjudged the Player of the Match for scoring 50 off 27 balls with four fours and as many sixes.
