Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Naseem Shah, the Pakistan fast bowler, celebrated his birthday and the cricketing fraternity wished him on the auspicious occasion. Shadab Khan, the Pakistan leg-spinner, also wished the young speedster. Shah, at the age of 16, picked up a hat-trick against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium. He made his debut when Pakistan toured Australia for a bilateral series.

Pakistan, in the meantime, beat South Africa in the three-match T20I series that took place at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Mohammad Rizwan became the leading run-scorer of the series. In the first T20I, he smashed a century and followed it up with two more impressive knocks. He went on to become the Player of the Series for his magnificent performance with the willow in hand.

He has also been picked as the skipper of the Multan Sultans for the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League. Shan Masood was the captain of the Sultans in the previous season. Tabraiz Shamsi became the joint-highest wicket-taker in the series along with fast bowler Dwaine Pretorius. Both of them picked up six wickets. But Shamsi had a better economy rate of 5.08. The cricket fraternity also talked about Ravi Ashwin’s ton in the Chepauk Test.
