Even a day after the departure of MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina from the international stage, tributes and wishes have not stopped on social media. Along with fans and players, many cricket boards and IPL franchises also wishes the CSK duo a happy international retirement.
Dhoni had shocked the entire cricket fraternity by announcing his international retirement yesterday. Sharing a video on Instagram with song ‘Mai pal do pal ka shayar hoon’, Mahi quietly walked off the biggest stage. What followed was his close friend and CSK vice-captain Suresh Raina bidding adieu to international cricket.
Many cricketers, who have shared the dressing room with Dhoni and Raina, reminisced on-field and off-field memories. Current India skipper recalled batting with Dhoni and penned down a heartwarming message for him. Kohli pointed out how they share trust when running between the wickets. Yuvraj, who had lifted the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup with Dhoni, shared a video depicting memorable moments of their international voyage.
Condolence messages also poured in for Chetan Chauhan, who breathed his last today after being put on life support for nearly 36 hours. Chetan Chauhan, who played 40 Tests for India, was 73 and was in the Uttar Pradesh cabinet. Chauhan was known for stitching several opening knocks with legendary Sunil Gavaskar.
