Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. After Australia humiliated India in the first ODI at Wankhede, Virat Kohli and Co. are gearing up to retaliate in the second ODI at Rajkot. Young stalwart Shreyas Iyer shared photos of him training ahead of the highly-anticipated encounter.

Ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is set to join English county side Yorkshire for the most part of its County Championship season this year. Ashwin is set to become their ‘frontline overseas spinner’ by joining a club, where Sachin Tendulkar also played in the past. Pakistan announced their squad for the for Bangladesh T20Is and one notable omission was Mohammad Amir. Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal extended wishes to Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik for getting selected in the side.

After BCCI announced annual contracts for players, fans lashed out on Twitter after former India skipper MS Dhoni was overlooked. Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle opined that a great IPL 2020 could change things for the 38-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who has been away from the game since India’s exit from World Cup 2019.
