Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. It’s been a couple of days since the news about Sourav Ganguly becoming the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come to the fore, but wishes are still pouring in for the former Indian skipper. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh lauded Dada, as Ganguly is popularly known, for yet another feather to his hat. The official announcement will be made on October 23 in the Annual General Meeting.

Shardul Thakur, the Mumbai fast bowler, has 28 years old and he was also lauded on the special occasion. Indian limited-overs vice-captain and Axar Patel wished the speedster on the auspicious occasion. Another Mumbai pacer Dhawal Kulkarni was over the moon after completing 200 List A wickets in the match versus Jharkhand in Alur. He picked up a five-wicket haul that included centurion Virat Singh’s scalp. Mumbai won the game by 39 runs. It was a game to remember for Yashasvi Jaiswal as well.

The 17-year-old churned out a knock of 203 runs off 154 balls with the help of 17 boundaries and 12 massive sixes. The over-boundaries he hit were the most in a single innings of a Vijay Hazare Trophy match. After the game, Shreyas Iyer, the Mumbai captain, posted a picture alongside Jaiswal. Jonty Rhodes and Kevin Pietersen wished Jacques Kallis, the former South African cricketer, on his 44th birthday.
