The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around a number of events. The first T20I between India and South Africa at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala got washed off due to rain. The second game of the series is set to be played at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Hardik Pandya, who made a comeback into the team after the World Cup, posted a picture along with Indian skipper Virat Kohli prior to the contest. The captain also shared his photo, which was clicked by his wife Anushka Sharma.

Chris Gayle completed 13,000 runs in T20 cricket and Nick Compton congratulated him on the stupendous achievement. The Universe Boss accomplished the milestone in the 2019 edition of the CPL, representing the Jamaica Tallawahs in the match against the Barbados Tridents at the Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. As far as the Tridents are concerned, they are missing out on the services of Shai Hope, who has missed the team’s first few games due to a hand injury that he suffered in the Test series versus India.

Sandeep Lamichhane sounded ecstatic as he is set to represent the Melbourne Stars in the next edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). Australia lost the final Ashes Test at the Kennington Oval, but managed to retain the urn, Shane Warne, the former Aussie leg-spinner, who’s a part of the commentary panel, was over the moon by the visitors’ performance in the series. Kyle Jarvis was feeling the heat in Chattogram where Zimbabwe will play their next T20I versus Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

What a ride it’s been over the last few months here in the UK. First the ICC Cricket World Cup and then The Ashes. I enjoyed both but, for me, Test cricket is the best form of the game and the one I love the most. In this Ashes series we had five fantastic Tests with some seriously good individual performances from players on both teams. I believe that, for any kid growing up in Australia, being a part of an Ashes series is still the pinnacle and if we’ve reinforced that over the past couple of months, and even got new boys and girls excited about the game, then that’s a great result. The fact we retained the urn makes all our hard work worthwhile and it’s the icing on the cake. Thanks to all of you back home who stayed up late to support us, as well as the many of you who made the trip to back us at the ovals. It means the world to us and we just hope we have given you some enjoyment. Thanks, too, for all the banter from the fans – it was fun. For me personally it was a tough series but my challenge now is to bounce back. I’ll be doing everything I can to do just that – but first some family time!
