The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. India and New Zealand are all set to lock horns in the opening Test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, starting February 21. Prior to the game, the Black Caps have been dealt with a blow as Neil Wagner won’t be a part of the squad. The left-arm speedster has been awaiting the birth of his first child. In Wagner’s place, fast bowler Matt Henry has been called up as a cover.
Sanjay Manjrekar,the former Indian cricketer and current commentator, feels that the Kiwis would be missing the X-factor in their bowling due to Wagner’s absence. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad is all set to witness the largest cricket stadium in the world. The newly reconstructed Motera Stadium will be on Monday, February 24 in the presence of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a number of renowned former cricketers.
Meanwhile, the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to get underway on February 20. The opening game is scheduled to be played between the Islamabad United and defending champions Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi. Pakistan Test skipper Azhar Ali celebrated his birthday and on the auspicious occasion, a number of cricketers wished him. Kagiso Rabada is all set for their home campaign against Australia.
