Floods in Assam have wreaked havoc across the state and at least 84 people have lost their lives due to severe flooding. River Brahmaputra has been flowing above the danger level in several places across Assam and 26 districts so far have been affected due to the natural calamity.

In the wake of the devastation, many prominent cricketers have been tweeting in support of the victims. Former England international Kevin Pietersen also rued the loss of lives. He even shared photos of himself when he had visited Assam in March this year.

Pietersen was also involved in a hilarious banter with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Pietersen, after Chelsea’s victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final, trolled Yuvraj, who is a ‘Red Devils’ fan.

Meanwhile, several cricketers reacted to the postponement of the T20 World Cup. The showpiece event, which was slated to commence in October, was postponed on Monday in the wake of COVID-19 debacle. The coronavirus situation across the world has put many global tournaments in jeopardy. Ramiz Raja and Aakash Chopra also expressed their disappointment over the mega-event getting postponed.

Twitter also erupted after West Indies lost three reviews in three overs in the ongoing Test against England. Jason Holder, in desperation, took three bizarre reviews in three overs and many fans even accused him of time-wasting on Day 5 of the Manchester Test.
