The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around various events with the former and current cricketers tweeting about the same. The trending subject of the day was England getting bowled out for a paltry 67 under the bright skies in the ongoing third Ashes Test at Headingley. Josh Hazlewood ran through their line-up to register a sensational five-wicket haul while Pat Cummins bowled menacingly to keep England at bay as well.
For England, only Joe Denly crossed the 10-run mark while the other couldn’t make a mark at all as they were skittled out in just 27.5 overs. Michael Vaughan was clearly not happy with the batsmen and termed it as a ‘pathetic effort’. Meanwhile, the former Australian cricketers enjoyed their team’s effort with the ball and lauded the Tim Paine-led side.
Cricket is set to return to Pakistan for a whole series as Sri Lanka has agreed to travel to the country. The Men in Green will host the Island nation for the three ODIs and the same number of T20 Internationals in September and October this year. Some of the Pakistani cricketers were delighted after the announcement and felt that this is the best chance to make international cricket a regular feature in the country.

Pant has centre stage in Antigua, favoured in front of Saha, has to take the moment. I think we’re in for some entertainment tonight. #WIvIND

7. Aakash Chopra gives his thoughts on England’s poor batting
Lead of 112 after getting dismissed for 179. Shows you that if you can’t bat in challenging conditions, batting second won’t be of much help. Good chance for Australia to retain #TheAshes in Headingly only. Even without Smith.

11. Chopra is active on Twitter
Constant exposure to T20 cricket has done two things
1. Bowlers upping their game. Survival instincts.
2. Batsmanship developing to suit the shortest format. Erosion of defensive technique. #TestCricket— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) August 23, 2019
12. Carberry feels the batsmen are not adapting enough to conditions
This is the problem globally batsmanship is diminishing because selectors are ttrying to turn hitters into batsman for entertainment. Techniques now mimic baseball hitters… whereas batsman sum up conditions and are able to adapt…… Yes that word ADAPT!!!!!
— michael carberry (@carbs646) August 23, 2019
13. Vaughan is clearly not happy with England’s batsmen
This has been a pathetic effort … No hiding behind any excuses … simply not good enough … #Ashes
