The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Lasith Malinga, the veteran Sri Lankan fast bowler, retired from franchise cricket. It means that he won’t be taking part for the Mumbai Indians in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. The veteran informed about his decision to the MI team management after which the IPL team released him of his services. Malinga bowed out as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker. Despite not playing the last season, he ended his IPL career with 170 wickets.
After he hung his boots, Jasprit Bumrah lauded him. Bumrah played alongside Malinga for quite a few seasons in the tournament and learned the art of bowling Yorkers at will. Shadab Khan was delighted after Rumman Raees joined Islamabad United as the bowling consultant for the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League. The IPL 2021 retentions took place on Wednesday, January 20.
New Zealand paceman Mitchell McClenaghan was happy after he was able to serve the Mumbai Indians for a long time. Niall O’Brien enjoyed the match between Afghanistan and Ireland at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Sheldon Jackson was happy with Cheteshwar Pujara’s bonding with his daughter after the cricketer returned from Australia.

4. Wasim Jaffer’s hilarious message after India’s away win in the Border Gavaskar Trophy
Away wins give more joy to Indian fans because they can then properly celebrate home wins, plus the 'SENApatis' can't spoil the mood saying "but India only wins at home" 😜 #IndvEng #AusvInd #SENApati

14. Sanjay Manjrekar asks the people to be a bit respectful
Only if you predicted a 2-1 result in favour of Ind before series began do you have the right to have a go at the foreign experts who had written Ind off. Let’s focus on a great Indian cricket triumph! Not attack respectable cricketers who went as per cricket logic.
