After dishing out two enthralling matches on the first two days, the extravaganza of IPL 2020 returned on the third day with another exciting game. Two rugged sides, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns at Dubai in third of the league.

The match had more negatives than positives as multiple players failed to live up to their potential. However, in the end, it was Virat Kohli’s RCB who defended their total and opened their IPL 2020 campaign on a positive note. Half-centuries from young Devdutt Padikkal and South African stalwart AB de Villiers ensured that RCB put up a challenging 163-run total on the scoreboard. Twitter also lauded Padikkal for slamming an impressive half-century on his IPL debut.

In response, SRH started off with skipper David Warner’s unfortunate run out. Fellow opener Jonny Bairstow drove the ball straight down the ground and brushed Umesh Yadav’s hand before hitting the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

Bairstow did provide SRH with some resistance as he slammed 61 off 43 deliveries. However, SRH lost wickets in quick succession as Yuzvendra Chahal’s three-wicket haul decimated their batting force. In the end, SRH lost the encounter by 10 runs, handing RCB a vital victory at the start.

Twitter was filled with RCB fans who congratulated their team for their victory. Meanwhile, many fans also trolled Vijay Shankar and Umesh Yadav for their dismal performance. While Shankar bowled two no-balls and got out on a golden duck, Umesh leaked 48 runs in his four overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin also revealed the status of his injury, a day after Delhi Capitals’ victory over Kings XI Punjab. During the match, he had dislocated his shoulder while diving to save a run. Ashwin took it to Twitter to inform his fans that the pain has settled down and scan reports are pretty encouraging too.
