The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Mumbai’s Sarfaraz Khan hit his maiden triple ton against Uttar Pradesh. Sarfaraz became the seventh Mumbai player to score a triple ton in Ranji Trophy. Wishes poured in for the youngster for his heroics in the Ranji Trophy 2019-20. Shreyas Iyer, who has cemented his spot in the Indian side, also lauded Sarfaraz’s knock and Mumbai’s batting display.
Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh also hailed Jalaj Saxena for his consistent all-round performances in the Ranji Trophy. Saxena is regarded as one of the best all-rounders across the domestic circuit. Melbourne Stars, who have delivered impressive performances this season in the Big Bash League, had to suffer a defeat against Adelaide Strikers. Veteran Shane Warne was critical of Stars’ performance and opined that the Glenn Maxwell-led side should get back to the basics.
Team India’s stalwart Rohit Sharma extended wishes to India’s U19 team, who are aiming to defend their World Cup title in South Africa. India are set to lock horns with New Zealand in five-match T20I series starting from January 24. Ahead of the first T20I, India’s speedster Jasprit Bumrah shared a picture while exploring Auckland.
Skipper Virat Kohli also shared a picture from Auckland featuring Ravindra Jadeja, Manish Pandey and KL Rahul. With Shikhar Dhawan being ruled out due to injury, it will be interesting to see the role of KL Rahul in the southpaw’s absence. Twitter was also flooded with wishes for Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews, who smashed his maiden double century against Zimbabwe at Harare.

Dhawan ruled out. Samson to replace him for T20i. And Prithvi for ODI. The interesting bit will be the role of KL Rahul in Dhawan’s absence. Will he continue to keep wickets or Pant/Samson get to keep!!! #NZvInd

11. Shane Warne lambasts Melbourne Stars
Very ordinary chase that from the Melb Stars tonight in the #BBL ! Left it way to late & there’s been way to much flirting of form in the last few games. Not the time to experiment with batting orders etc. Get back to the basics please boys & stop complicating it all !

Not often does life give you a second chance. And when it does you need to grab it with both hands. Sarfaraz Khan certainly has grabbed his comeback chance with both hands. Mumbai 16/2 in pursuit of UP’s 626 and an outstanding triple century from Sarfaraz to get the lead. pic.twitter.com/S7mNsXicNe
