Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The second Test between England and Sri Lanka is currently taking place at the Galle International Stadium. In the opening day’s play, it was Angelo Mathews, who managed to steal the limelight. He notched a patient century and kept the Brits’ bowlers at bay for the most part of the day. He got the apt support from Lahiru Thirimanne and Dinesh Chandimal. The latter even went on to notch a half-century before he got out to fast bowler Mark Wood.

In the meantime, at the Adelaide Oval, Alex Hales scored a century against Sydney Sixers. Playing for the Sydney Thudner, the right-hander smashed 110 runs off 56 balls and his knock was laced with nine fours and as many as eight sixes. Though he got out to Carlos Brathwaite in the 19th over, his knock made sure that the Thunder racked up a mammoth score of 232 for the loss of five wickets on the board.

Hales’ knock didn’t go in vain as the Thunder won the game by a massive margin of 46 runs. The cricketing fraternity was pleased with how the England batsman played. Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian team, was over the moon after Mohammed Siraj did well in the Test series against Australia that the visitors won.
