Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam, are currently playing their opening Test against South Africa at the National Stadium in Karachi. After the Proteas won the toss and elected to bat first, the home team’s bowlers wreaked havoc. Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram put on 30 for the opening wicket off a mere 30 balls. Shaheen Shah Afridi separated the duo removing Markram, who was batting on 13 runs from 16 balls with the help of three glorious fours.

From there on, most of the South African batters got starts, but couldn’t convert. The match also saw Imran Butt and Nauman Ali making their debuts for the national team at the highest level. Ali, the left-arm spinner, got rid of Dean Elgar and opposition captain Quinton de Kock. For the visitors, Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma got decent starts but fell prey to shambolic run-outs.

Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan pacer, wanted the hosts to bowl their opponent out cheaply after getting them on the mat.
