The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra posted a video where an umpire acted in a funny manner after a batsman hit a shot. Wayne Parnell was a satisfied lot following his fruitful stint with Worcestershire. The all-rounder played the final of the T20 Blast versus Essex at the Edgbaston in Birmingham and then took part in a first-class match against Sussex in Hove. He is now looking forward to coming back for the next season.
Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan gets underway on September 27 with the first ODI at the National Stadium in Karachi. A couple of days ago, the Lankans landed in the host country and were welcomed whole-heartedly. Prior to the series, Ramiz Raja wants people to shift their focus from politics to cricket for the next few days. Domestic veteran Fawad Alam wished the Men in Green and also asked the netizens on Twitter regarding how many of them are going to cheer their team at the iconic venue.
In the meantime, Marcus Trescothick has finally decided to pull the curtains down on his career at the age of 43. He retired from international cricket way back in 2008 due to stress-related illness, but continued playing county cricket. He ended with over 40,000 runs to go with 94 centuries and 207 half-centuries. The entire cricketing fraternity wished him after an illustrious career. Dimuth Karunaratne wished Jonny Bairstow on the latter’s birthday. Bairstow recently lost his place in the England Test team.

9. Gautam Gambhir’s stern message
Delhi is very close to my heart and any incidents of crime should be met with contempt, more so if they are against women, children and elderly. It is appalling that some of these incidents have happened in broad daylight. I intend to take up these issues at appropriate forum.

11. Mithali Raj disturbed by a heinous crime
Extremely disturbing. The incident and the fact that girls in our country have to live their lives in either fear or go through such horror. Nothing should anger us more. This heinous crime just rises, unchecked. This is the world, the environment we are creating for our children https://t.co/O1jMkA4YZq
