The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around the festival of lights in India as several cricketers wished their fans and followers a very happy Diwali. Most of the Indian cricketers spared time to wish their colleagues and followers on the auspicious occasion. Even the foreign cricketers like Steve Smith and David among many took to their official handles to wish the Indians on the festive occasion.
Meanwhile, a lot of cricketers also enjoyed their birthdays on the day. Kumar Sangakkara, Irfan Pathan and David Warner turned one year old as the wishes flooded in for them from their country mates. However, David Warner enjoyed his special day in a perfect way. The southpaw played his first international in front of the home crowd since coming from the ban and slammed a century in a T20I against Sri Lanka.
This was also his maiden ton in the T20 Internationals and his knock helped Australia post a mammoth total of 233 runs for the loss of two wickets after 20 overs. In response, Sri Lanka never got going and lost wickets at the regular intervals. The result of the match was out of the question very soon as they could only manage to muster 99 runs for the loss of nine wickets after 20 overs.
