Cricketing trends on social media today

Today marks the birthday of the greatest bowler ever produced by Pakistan. The legendary Wasim Akram turns 55 today and social media has been flooded with wishes for the former Pakistan left-arm seamer. In an international career that spanned almost two decades, Akram scalped a staggering 916 wickets in international cricket.

While Shoaib Malik thanked Akram for mentoring him, Mir Hamza labeled Akram as his biggest inspiration. Amir Yamin stated that Akram is a legend of world cricket. Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan also tweeted that Akram bowled a lot of yorkers to him in a net session and even broke a couple of bats of his.

Meanwhile, Devon Conway scored a magnificent double century on Test debut at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground for New Zealand, and Brad Hogg has lauded Conway for the composure and patience that he displayed out in the middle. Also, the members of the Indian cricket team have landed in Southampton for the summit clash of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand that will start on 18th June 2021.
