The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around Sarfaraz Ahmed being appointed as the captain of Pakistan for the World Cup 2019. There were some speculations of Shoaib Malik leading the team after the wicketkeeper-batsman was banned for four matches by ICC. But the PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani has quashed all the reports and confirmed that Sarfaraz will lead the team in the 10-team tournament.
The congratulatory messages flew in for Sarfaraz on Twitter as Shoaib Malik was the first to wish him from South Africa. This has also put all the speculations of the rift between the two players to rest and even Sarfaraz thanked him. The likes of Shahid Afridi, Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez among many congratulated Sarfaraz on the occasion.
There was also a buzz around Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s birthday who turned 29 today. The birthday wishes flooded in for the cricketer and even the fast bowler promptly responded to all the wishes thanking all his well-wishers on his special day.

10. Warne thinks Australia can win World Cup
As I’m putting my #worldcup squad together for my column, I really believe Aust can win it again. As we have the players for the conditions, match winners etc. I think England & India go in as hot favourites, but if the selectors play their part – then the Aussies can 100% win !
