The cricketing trends on Wednesday revolved around former Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haq. He was appointed as the head coach as well as the chief selector of the national team. Thus, he was flooded with wishes which included those from Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi as well. The fast bowler also tried to find the funny side of things and wrote that he was surprised that Misbah wasn’t appointed as the chairman of PCB. Misbah Ul Haq himself took it to Twitter to thank everyone for the wishes and support for the challenging journey ahead.
Some of the other trends also revolved around the ongoing Ashes Test. Mark Waugh didn’t seem to be impressed with Joe Root’s idea of not bowling Jofra Archer to Steve Smith early on. On the other hand, Brad Hogg opined that the English skipper didn’t have enough confidence in Craig Overton. After David Warner became Stuart Broad’s bunny once again, Dean Jones came up with a piece of advice for the left-hander.
1. Shoaib Akhtar makes fun of Misbah ul Haq in his congratulatory tweet
Congratulations to @captainmisbahpk for the new ‘dual’ role of Head Coach as well as Chief Selector for Pakistan Cricket Team.
I am surprised he is not appointed the Chairman PCB as well along with it.Hahahaha
i am just kidding. I really hope he does wonders like before ????

6. Mark Waugh didn’t seem to be impressed with Joe Root’s tactics when Steve Smith walked out to bat
Excellent partnership from Marnus and Smithy to steady the ship in the first session. Must say I’m very surprised by England’s tactics v Smithy. Surely Root had to give Archer a red hot go with some short stuff for more than half a dozen balls early in in his innings.

7. Is skipper Joe Root not confident about Craig Overton? Brad Hogg thinks so
Overton will be feeling nervous at the moment. Spinner & all-rounder being asked to bowl in front of him on day one, when its most conducive to seam bowling. Captain Root not Confident. Had to get him on early, feel part of the action. #Ashes2019 #ENGvAUS #Manchester

12. David Warner became Stuart Broad’s bunny again. Dean Jones came up with a piece of advice for the left-hander
As it appears now that Broad is in Warner’s head. I had the same problem with Hadlee. Davey needs to study him more.. release points.. lengths.. look for his strengths and he will find his weakness.
