The Indian opener may not have done justice to his Test career so far yet he is one of the best batsmen going around in the world in the second oldest format of the game. His record speaks for itself. Having played 180 ODIs so far, he has amassed 6594 runs at an average of 44.55. Rohit has scored 17 hundreds so far that include 3 double centuries, the only man to achieve that in the history of the game.

The right-hander once gets his eye in, is extremely difficult to dismiss. He makes batting look easy with his lazy elegance and when he gets going, there is absolutely no stopping him. If there is anyone in the cricketing fraternity who has literally owned 50-over cricket, that has to be South Africa&#8217;s Hashim Amla. A few years ago, he was regarded as a Test specialist and no one would have thought he would be so successful in ODIs. But Amla proved everyone wrong and adjusted his game to suit the needs of the format.

In 164 matches, he has scored 7535 runs at an astonishing average of 50.23. The 34-year-old has a strike rate of 88.9 which is quite amazing. He is also the fastest to 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 runs in the history of ODIs. He may not end up amongst the leading run-scorers of the game but he will certainly be counted as one of the best to have ever graced the game of cricket.

The Modern Master, the best batsman in the World, the Chase Master, so many superlatives have been used to describe the man and he deserves every bit of that due to an out of this world record in the 50-over format. There is no other who has a better record at the moment in ODIs.

In 208 matches, the Delhi-lad has accounted for 9588 at an extraordinary average of 58.11 and a strike rate of 92.15. Add to the daunting numbers, the 35 centuries. The number one ranked ODI batsman and the legend in the making is also the best person to lead this World ODI XI.

The captain of New Zealand and one of the best batsman in the world &#8211; Kane Williamson is also an automatic selection in the World ODI XI. He has been absolutely magnificent for the Kiwis for a number of years and has won them plenty of games single-handedly. At times, he has solely bailed his team out of trouble and took them to victories.

In 124 matches, he has scored 4986 runs at an average of 46.17 which includes 10 centuries and 33 fifties. In a short career, he has reached great heights and in a few years, is sure to be known as the best batsman that the country has ever produced.

Talk about ODI cricket and one name that stands apart is AB de Villiers. The 50-over format is by far the most preferred format for the South African batsman. He has played some of the jaw-dropping innings that you will ever get to see. Famous for his 360 degrees style of batting, he draws the spectators to the stadiums all over the world.

This may raise a few eyebrows seeing Dhoni in the XI given his dip in the form of late but there is no denying the fact that he is the still the best in the business when it comes to the duties with the gloves behind the stumps. Shakib has been heavily responsible for the meteoric rise of Bangladesh cricket in the past decade and has stood up for the nation on countless occasions.

The left-hander&#8217;s ability to build the innings as well as go big whenever required make him an ideal pick in the batting line-up. The left-arm spin is an added advantage and he does a pretty good job at that too. To replicate the consistency of Test cricket in the ODI format is phenomenal and it’s evident by the fact that he is the number one ranked ODI bowler in the world.</p>
<p>Hazlewood has featured in 41 ODIs so far and picked up 69 wickets at an average of 24.28 and an economy rate of 4.73. It’s been his form in the recent times that has seen him rise to the top and he has the potential to stay there for a long time to come.</p>

<p>Amongst the bunch of the youngsters that burst onto the scene in the past few years, there has been no one that has impressed more than South African pacer Kagiso Rabada. The right-hander emerged from the 2014 Under-19 World Cup where he was the leading wicket-taker for the country. Fast forward 3 years, he is spearheading the bowling attack for the nation in all 3 formats.</p>
<p>In 48 ODIs so far, he has taken 75 wickets at an average of 27.57. He possesses sheer pace and swing. He bowls equally well with the old ball and is useful at the slog overs. Rabada is an ideal prospect for any format and certainly the one to become a future legend.</p>

<p>The success of the two recent ICC tournaments namely the Champions Trophy and the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/broadcasters-expected-to-earn-a-whopping-sum-from-advertising-in-the-womens-world-cup-2017/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Women&#8217;s World Cup</strong></a> has given the much-needed boost to ODI cricket. After the advent of T20 cricket, the 50-over format had started losing its sheen but in the past couple of months, the crowds have returned to the grounds and it&#8217;s again flourishing like it used to a decade ago.</p>

We at CricTracker have done our analysis of the best players in the world in the ODI format and come up with the combination that will make a formidable lineup on any playing surface around the globe.</p>

<p>The Indian opener may not have done justice to his Test career so far yet he is one of the best batsmen going around in the world in the second oldest format of the game. His record speaks for itself. Having played 180 ODIs so far, he has amassed 6594 runs at an average of 44.55. Rohit has scored 17 hundreds so far that include 3 double centuries, the only man to achieve that in the history of the game.</p>
<p>The right-hander once gets his eye in, is extremely difficult to dismiss. He makes batting look easy with his lazy elegance and when he gets going, there is absolutely no stopping him. Rohit&#8217;s incredible knock of 264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens showed that he belongs to altogether a different league.</p>

<p>If there is anyone in the cricketing fraternity who has literally owned 50-over cricket, that has to be South Africa&#8217;s Hashim Amla. A few years ago, he was regarded as a Test specialist and no one would have thought he would be so successful in ODIs. But Amla proved everyone wrong and adjusted his game to suit the needs of the format.</p>
<p>In 164 matches, he has scored 7535 runs at an astonishing average of 50.23. The 34-year-old has a strike rate of 88.9 which is quite amazing. He is also the fastest to 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 runs in the history of ODIs. He may not end up amongst the leading run-scorers of the game but he will certainly be counted as one of the best to have ever graced the game of cricket.</p>

<h3>#3 Virat Kohli(c)</h3>

<p>The easiest selection in the World ODI XI is undoubtedly India&#8217;s Virat Kohli. The Modern Master, the best batsman in the World, the Chase Master, so many superlatives have been used to describe the man and he deserves every bit of that due to an out of this world record in the 50-over format. There is no other who has a better record at the moment in ODIs.</p>
<p>In 208 matches, the Delhi-lad has accounted for 9588 at an extraordinary average of 58.11 and a strike rate of 92.15. Add to the daunting numbers, the 35 centuries. The number one ranked ODI batsman and the legend in the making is also the best person to lead this World ODI XI.</p>

<h3>#4 Kane Williamson</h3>

<p>The captain of New Zealand and one of the best batsman in the world &#8211; Kane Williamson is also an automatic selection in the World ODI XI. He has been absolutely magnificent for the Kiwis for a number of years and has won them plenty of games single-handedly. At times, he has solely bailed his team out of trouble and took them to victories.</p>
<p>In 124 matches, he has scored 4986 runs at an average of 46.17 which includes 10 centuries and 33 fifties. In a short career, he has reached great heights and in a few years, is sure to be known as the best batsman that the country has ever produced.</p>

<p>Talk about ODI cricket and one name that stands apart is AB de Villiers. The 50-over format is by far the most preferred format for the South African batsman. He has played some of the jaw-dropping innings that you will ever get to see. Famous for his 360 degrees style of batting, he draws the spectators to the stadiums all over the world.</p>
<p>His numbers in the format are staggering. In 228 ODIs, he has 9577 runs to his name at an average of 53.5 and a strike rate of 101.1. The 33-year-old has notched up 25 centuries, one of them was off just 31 deliveries against West Indies which is the fastest century in international cricket across all formats.</p>

<h3> #6 MS Dhoni</h3>

<p>This may raise a few eyebrows seeing Dhoni in the XI given his dip in the form of late but there is no denying the fact that he is the still the best in the business when it comes to the duties with the gloves behind the stumps. There is no other yet who matches the skills that he possesses in the wicketkeeping department. There is hardly anything that he misses and add to that the stumpings he produces, certainly the fastest hands in the trade.</p>
<p>The 36-year-old may not have the same prowess with the bat as he used to have once but he is still a useful prospect in the middle-order. Having an average of 51.38 after 318 matches batting lower down the order is extraordinary, something not too many have achieved. Dhoni will definitely go down as one of the greats in ODI cricket.</p>

<p>The Bangladeshi is arguably the best all-rounder in the ODI format currently which is also reflected by the ICC all-rounders&#8217; ranking where he rules at the pole position in all 3 formats. Shakib has been heavily responsible for the meteoric rise of Bangladesh cricket in the past decade and has stood up for the nation on countless occasions.</p>
<p>The left-hander&#8217;s ability to build the innings as well as go big whenever required make him an ideal pick in the batting line-up. The left-arm spin is an added advantage and he does a pretty good job at that too. In 185 ODIs, he has scored 5243 runs at an average of 34.95 and bagged 235 wickets at 29.46 and a cheap economy rate of 4.45.</p>
