Chennai Super Kings have been in trouble since the day they have arrived in UAE. 13 members of their contingent have been tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, which also included Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Thus, all the players were asked to stay under self-isolation for another week and there was no training possible for the entire squad.

Finally, the good news has arrived for the Yellow Army. Apart from Chahar and Gaikwad, all other players have been tested negative for COVID-19. Their mandatory quarantine has also finished. They will be starting training soon and also they will finally get a chance to interact with each other.

The Chennai franchise was supposed to play the first game of the tournament against Mumbai Indians. However, the schedule announcement has been delayed, deeming the circumstances and it is expected to be announced on Friday, September 4th.

Nonetheless, players finally got out of their rooms to meet each other and the franchise shared a picture from the breakfast area. Shane Watson, the former Australian allrounder, and the skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni can be seen having a conversation at the breakfast table.

The caption on the Instagram post was written in Tamil. “Watto Thala Dharisanam,” CSK captioned the post which loosely translates to – “A glimpse of Watson and Dhoni”.

The struggle continues

CSK suffered a big blow when Suresh Raina, the vice-captain of the team pulled out of the tournament due to ‘personal reasons’. There were a lot of assumptions about the reasons for the same. Speculations about a rift between the team owner, N Srinivasan, MS Dhoni, and Suresh Raina were also there but the vice-captain clearly denied the same.

The three times IPL champions again have bad news as their star spinner and veteran Indian bowler, Harbhajan Singh also opted out of the entire season due to ‘personal reasons’. The franchise is expected to announce the replacement soon. Notably, there are only 15 days left for the extravaganza to begin. The tournament is going to kick off from September 19th and the final is to be played on November 10th.
