CT 2017: Azhar Ali geared up for the big challenge

Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali is confident of putting up a good show in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The stylish batsman has had a good run in the recent times and believes that his team is going into the tournament with great expectations. Recently, he noted that the competition will have the best teams competing against one another.

Hence, every match of the tournament is going to be a pressure game. Azhar Ali realises that it is of utmost importance to ensure that the team is ready for every game that come their way. Pakistan will play two warm-up matches before heading into the tournament proper. Pakistan’s first warm-up game will be against the Bangladesh side at Birmingham on May 27.

“All top teams are participating in the Champions Trophy, so every match is going to be tough and Pakistan needs to be up to the task for every match,” Azhar Ali quoted as per the quotes in Brecorder.com.

On playing against India

The first match for the men in green in the mega event will be against the arch-rivals India. The two teams share a great history of rivalry on the field. They will lock horns at Birmingham on June 4. Azhar noted that playing against India is always a pressure game. He is hopeful that Pakistan will do well in the game.

“Playing against India is always a pressure game, but we should take it as a normal game, and I am hopeful that Pakistan will perform good,” quoted Azhar Ali.

Earlier, Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan had expressed that he is all set to compete against Virat Kohli and co. Much like Junaid, Azhar also noted that he is working on his bowling as well. The bowling could well aid the cause of the team in the limited overs format of the game.
