The head coach of New Zealand cricket team, Mike Hesson, vehemently affirmed that his team would rely on aggression in their upcoming match against Australians tomorrow at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Hesson commented that they would not want to go back home without emptying their full strength of arsenal.

Australia and New Zealand have had a knack of taking things down to the wire whenever they face-off against each other. The Black Caps recently have had the better of the Australians when it comes to recent ICC events. The match between the Trans-Tasman rivals at Auckland in the ICC World Cup 2015 is a testimonial to that.

Kane Williamson managed to pull off a sensational win by one-wicket by hitting a maximum off Mitchell Starc who created havoc within the New Zealand camp. They met yet again at Dharamsala at the T20 World Cup held in India. Yet again it was the Kiwis who emerged victorious in another low-scoring event.

Won’t go home without firing a shot

The head coach of the New Zealand team further stated that looking at the nature of the pitch, their strategies would be crystal clear and that would be to attack irrespective of circumstances. Hesson also stressed on the fact about the dual nature of the Edgbaston pitch.

“You don’t want to go home feeling you haven’t fired a shot, We’ve had a bit of success against Australia in the recent past and we’ll certainly draw on that. We’re pretty clear how we want to play the game. It’s up to the opposition whether they allow us to do that, The wicket is really flat, it’s a really good surface. But if you do whack it in, especially with the new ball, there was a little bit of variety in bounce, little bit two paced in nature,” quoted Mike Hesson according to cricbuzz.com

Kane Williamson (Captain), Neil Broom, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Ross Taylor, Trent Boult, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Corey Anderson, Colin de Grandhomme, James Neesham, Jeetan Patel, Mitchell Santner, Luke Ronchi(wk)
