A thumping 9 wicket win over the hapless Bangladeshi camp has now put team India in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2017. They will lock horns with their arch-rivals Pakistan in the big game on June 18. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is a mighty pleased man with the way his team has been responding in the recent games. He was heard praising the Indian top order in the post-match press conference after the win against Bangladesh.

His words oozed confidence and team India certainly look like the favorites heading into the finals. However, the Indian skipper is not being complacent just yet. He has immense respect for his opposition of the final. In a recent interaction, Virat Kohli lauded the way Pakistan team has turned things around in the tournament. In the first game that they played against India, they had lost by 124 runs.

After that, they beat the strong Proteas side in a rain affected game. They marched on to beat Sri Lanka in the virtual quarter-finals. And lastly, they defeated the tournament favorites England in the first semi-final of the tournament.

“They’ve turned around things for themselves really well. They’ve beaten sides that looked really strong against them, but the belief just showed on the field the way they played together as a team,” quoted Virat Kohli as per the quotes in brecorder.com.

Playing the same brand of cricket

Talking about his game plan, Virat Kohli noted that the team will continue to play the same brand of cricket that they have played in the tournament thus far. They will not be trying anything new and will continue to plan in the same manner as they have been doing.

“Regardless of who you play in the final, it’s always going to be challenging because once you start thinking that it’s a big game, then your mindset changes. What we are going to try to do is repeat the similar sort of cricket that we have played so far, knowing the strengths and weaknesses they have,” conceded the Indian captain.
