India and Pakistan will take on each other on 4th June at Edgbaston, Birmingham. It will be the fourth time the two rivals are facing each other at the ICC Champions Trophy. The high-voltage India versus Pakistan match provides opportunities to the cricket enthusiasts of both the countries to engage in a banter. Former cricketers also indulge themselves in some light-hearted sarcastic banter.

Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar are long time foes turned friends. In the field, the Sehwag-Shoaib rivalry was a mouth-watering one. But those days are gone and nowadays the two former cricketers are fancying their chances with the mic in hand. The fun-loving personalities again engaged themselves in a friendly banter while speaking to the Hindi news channel Aaj Tak.

Sehwag suggests Shoaib buy some radios

After Pakistan’s defeat at the hands of India, images of Pakistani fans taking out their anger on the television sets are common. Hence, ‘Viru’ asked the Rawalpindi Express to buy some radios instead as it will be cheaper. “Buy radio sets instead of television as it won’t pinch their pockets if they have to break them after Pakistan loses the June 4 contest versus India,” said the Nawab of Najabgarh.

To this, Shoaib’s well-thought answer was “We have enough old Chinese TV sets which don’t work, so we (will) break them (instead).” The 38-year old former Indian opener did not stop there and went on to impress the audience with his sarcastic remarks. He mocked how Pakistan failed to beat the men in blue in ICC World Cup every time they met in cricket’s grandest stage.

Akhtar feels Pakistan need to play like Virat Kohli

Ahead of the high-voltage encounter, Akhtar said that the Pakistani team must play like the captain of their counterpart. “Pakistan need to play like Kohli, or even half of what how Kohli plays like. If we play with game awareness at run a ball or at an economy of four or five for the full 50 overs, it will provide Pakistan with a very strong chance,” said the 41-year old former speedster.

When Akhtar said that India must play at least two series against Pakistan every year, Sehwag found another opportunity to make fun of Shoaib. “Pakistan need to play like Kohli, or even half of what how Kohli plays like. If we play with game awareness at run a ball or at an economy of four or five for the full 50 overs, it will provide Pakistan with a very strong chance,” said the Delhi lad.
