David Hussey predicts Royal Challengers Bangalore as potential IPL 2015 winners: Veteran Australian cricketer David Hussey predicts Royal Challengers Bangalore as the favorites to win Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015. He also predicted that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take the second and third place respectively while Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will be ranked fourth.

His twitter handle today read:

The Royal Challengers have never won the trophy; however they have world class and match winning players in their squad in the likes of Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, and Mitchell Starc to count a few. Both KKR and CSK have already won the title twice and are the contenders for the title this time round as well. KXIP were considered as the most successful team last year where they reached the finals only to be defeated by KKR.

By the time the IPL was first floated in 2008, David Hussey had already played a record number of T20 games which made him one of the most seasoned batsmen in the shortest version of the game. He is a cricketer who understands the dynamics of the T20 version of cricket better than many. He first played for the Kolkata Knight Riders for the first three seasons and had a successful first series, scoring 319 runs at an average of 29.00.

In the fourth season, Hussey attracted the biggest price for an Australian on the opening day of the two-day auction at Bangalore and was contracted by Kings XI Punjab for US$1.4 million. He is currently the second most expensive overseas IPL cricketer after Mahela Jayawardene.

In the Indian Premier League 2012, due to the absence of injured KXIP captain Adam Gilchrist, he led the Kings XI until Gilchrist returned. In the 2014 season he played for Chennai Super Kings. He entered the tournament later as a replacement for the injured Dwayne Bravo.

Hussey usually bats at number 4 and at the position he acts as the link between the top order and the lower middle order. His highest score remains the 71 he scored off 46 balls (4*4, 6*4) which he scored in 2008 against Punjab in a game the KKR eventually lost narrowly by 9 runs.
