David Miller is renowned for his extravagant stroke-play and has been a part of the South African setup for last eight years. He has played 105 ODIs and 60 T20Is for his nation ever since. However, he has strained to hold on to his position in the national team because of inconsistencies. Nevertheless, he scores at a strike-rate of 101.13 and 139.86, which makes him a tough prospect to deal with in white ball cricket.

Miller commenced his career for the KwaZulu-Natal and then played for the Dolphins and the Knights. He has an experience of 200 List A and over 250 T20 matches. The swashbuckling batsman played for the Bloemfontein Knights in the last two seasons. He had an impressive domestic season and managed 355 runs in 6 games. As per reports in Sport24, the Proteas batsman will return to the Dolphins for the upcoming season.

“They are building something special”- Miller on Dolphins

“My two seasons with the Knights were great and they were just what my career needed. My time there challenged me in different areas but it was quite an easy decision for me to come back to Durban. I do a lot of travelling as it is and so the travel between Durban and Bloemfontein became an issue and I am happy to be back where it started for me,” he said while highlighting the importance of his Knights’ stint.

The Dolphins had an auspicious season last time around. They shared the 2017-18 Momentum ODI Cup along with the Warriors. They also were the finalists in the 2017-18 Ram Slam T20s. The Dolphins have lost quite a few players in Kyle Abbott, Daryn Smit and Cameron Delport all this while and Miller’s inclusion will come as a massive boost for them.

“The Dolphins had a good season in white ball cricket last year and they are building something special and I am looking forward to adding to that this season. I have heard a lot of good things about Morgs (Grant Morgan) and his passion for the game and his work ethic beyond training and matches, it is exciting,” the left-handed batsman added.
